Solar shades

Protect your home or sunroom from the sun with Betterliving™ motorized exterior solar shades that help you control the sun from the outside, providing privacy and shade.

The most efficient way to block the heat of the sun is from the outside – before it has a chance to heat the window glass! Solar shades can block the sun’s heat while still providing visibility to the outside.

Roll up solar shades pay for themselves year after year in reduced energy costs and protect your furnishings from harmful UV rays that may cause fading. The perfect solution for your sunroom to block heat or add privacy.

Our shade fabrics are available in a variety of colours, weaves and styles. Our sun control fabrics include acrylic awning fabric and PVC coated polyester. Use our “zipper” shade system with fiberglass screen or Phifer Tuff Screen to make a bug-proof enclosure.

Polyester and fiberglass screen fabrics are available from 5% to 40% openness to control how much light you want to enter your home!

Motorize your shade for the ultimate in convenience. With the push of a button, control any of your shades individually or move several of them together.

Horizontal shades

The Betterliving™ horizontal retractable shade can be used for shelter and privacy. In addition to blocking sun and wind, horizontal shades provide privacy on townhouse decks and terraces. Many fabrics are available, including our 100% solution dyed acrylic awning fabrics in many decorator solids and patterns, as well as our line of solar shade fabrics with varying weave patterns to achieve the desired level of privacy or protection from the sun.

Drop shades

The drop shade is our Betterliving™ window awning without the arms – available with or without cassette. It has tabs on the bottom so you can fix it to eye-hooks at the bottom or your opening. This is a very economical alternative to Solar Shades.
